Its that time of year... It's american idol time!
I was never into this program until I moved in with my current roommate a few years ago and she convinced me to watch the funny bad people at the beginning of the season. Against all my good judgement, I got hooked into the sexual tension between Simon and Paula, anxiously anticipating a slip up involving Ryan Seacrest coming out of the closet, as well as the idiotic filler programming so that they can get an extra 30 minutes worth of commercials. I can't help it. I hate this show so much, but at the same time, I feel like I can't turn it off. Sort of like watching a train wreck or whatever.
A far better program similar to idol was the short-lived (one season) wonder, WB Superstar USA. This program is similar to american idol in that they are searching for singers. However, in the auditions, the judges (featuring Vitamin C of 90s fame), tell every terrible singer that they are good. They tell every good singer they are bad. The encouragement by the judges to the terrible singers is quite possibly one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed. I also enjoy the "fake audience" that is hired to enjoy the performances of the contestants. Oh snap, its america at its finest.

it's THROW some D's on that bitch. Don't you know Rich Boy? We owe Leanne our lives for hooking us up with WB superstar. I think I got enough comedic gold from that show to last me for another five years.
p.s. we are the only ones who will ever comment on each other's blogs.
